Condition details

Pet policy: Pets are explicitly permitted at Bettei Umekoji — stated on official naokonoza.com as one of the rare properties in the collection where pets are allowed, at no extra charge. Pets must stay within the designated pet area (a pet circle next to the kitchen on the 1st floor) — they cannot freely roam all rooms. Inform the property when booking. Private stay: The entire 80+ year-old machiya (98m²) is exclusively for your group — tatami rooms, kitchen, bath, courtyard, and garden. Private bath: A handmade Shigaraki ceramic soaking bathtub is located across the courtyard garden, exclusively for your group. Shigaraki ware is a traditional Japanese ceramic heritage; the bath's far-infrared properties warm from the core. Self-catering: IH cooktop, microwave, refrigerator, rice cooker, and electric kettle. Note: gas cooking is not permitted at this property; IH cooking is available. Optional Michelin chef: A private Michelin-background chef (Chef Jun Asami) can be arranged to prepare dinner at the machiya via IKYU reservation.
